Words from the families we have served
Siriporn K.
Bangkok, Estate Review
My father passed away in April and none of us really knew where to begin. A friend suggested Songtho Legal. The initial consultation was unhurried and they listened carefully before explaining anything. The written overview we received afterwards was genuinely useful — it gave us a clear picture for the first time.

My late wife held property in Bangkok and I had no idea how succession worked here. Thanawat walked me through each document in plain English, which made an enormous difference. The process took longer than I expected — some of that is the courts, not the firm — but I was kept informed throughout.

Nanthida P.
Chiang Mai, Contested Matter
The estate dispute in our family was making things very difficult between siblings. Praew handled everything with a calmness that honestly helped reduce the tension. She was straightforward about what we could and could not realistically expect, which I respected. We reached a resolution that felt fair.

Apichat S.
Bangkok, Estate Review
I came in without any legal background and not knowing what questions to even ask. The team was patient and never made me feel uninformed. They gave me a written document that I could take home and share with my brothers, which helped us all get on the same page.

I was helping my mother-in-law manage my husband's estate from overseas, which created its own complications. Nattaya was the main point of contact and was consistently helpful and easy to reach. Fees were as discussed, nothing came as a surprise. Would recommend to other expats in a similar position.

Wirut C.
Pathum Thani, Contested Matter
Before contacting Songtho Legal, we had tried to resolve the matter informally for several months without progress. Praew reviewed the facts and was honest about the likely path. The preparation she did was thorough — every document was in order before we went to court. I felt as prepared as I could be.

How we have helped — three case studies
All identifying details have been changed. Cases are described with the clients' permission.
Case Study 01 · Estate Review
The Situation
A family of three adult children needed to understand an estate following their mother's death. No will existed and they were unsure what assets were held, what debts remained, and what the legal process required of them.
Our Approach
We conducted an estate review over ten days, gathering records from land registries, financial institutions, and the family's own documents. A written overview was provided covering all identified assets and the recommended next steps.
The Outcome
The family received a clear document they could each refer to. Two of the three siblings decided to proceed with succession document support. The estate was administered over approximately eight weeks without dispute.
"We didn't know where to start, and they made sure we did by the time we left." — One of the adult children involved.
Case Study 02 · Succession Documents
The Situation
A retired British national's wife had passed away in Bangkok, leaving a condominium and several bank accounts. He spoke limited Thai and had no experience with Thai probate procedures. He needed support navigating an entirely unfamiliar system.
Our Approach
Our team handled all documentation in both Thai and English, liaised with the relevant court, and provided the client with plain-language summaries of every step. We managed the process over fourteen weeks as the court schedule required.
The Outcome
The succession was completed and assets transferred according to his wife's wishes. The client was able to manage the process entirely from Bangkok with regular updates, without needing to travel back to the UK to handle anything.
"They explained everything in a way I could follow. That mattered more than I can say." — D.M., British national, Bangkok.
Case Study 03 · Contested Estate
The Situation
Two branches of a family disagreed about the validity of a will made shortly before the deceased's death. One party believed undue influence had been applied; the other maintained the document was legitimate. The dispute had strained family relationships for months.
Our Approach
We conducted a thorough review of the will, medical records, and available witness accounts before accepting the engagement. We then prepared a documented case and represented our client with clear, measured communication throughout proceedings.
The Outcome
The court found in favour of our client. The estate was distributed in line with the earlier, undisputed will. The case was resolved in approximately five months from initial assessment to final order.
"I was told at the outset what the likely path was. That honesty was everything." — N.P., case participant.
